About The Event

Social media continues to be a growing platform for applicants, employees, and companies to use for marketing, corporate branding, and employee engagement. As with any computer technology, the use of social media in the workplace brings its own legal risks and compliance issues. In this webinar, we will discuss some of the key points to consider when a company uses social media:

  • Social media in recruiting – does your HR team or hiring managers “cybervet” an applicant’s social media account in the hiring process?
  • Social media use as an employee – if you allow your employees to use social media as part of their job, it is key to make sure the company has a lawfully compliant policy in line with the National Labor Relations Board’s views.
  • Social media in terminations – be careful about terminating an employee for their use of social media and learn when it is lawful to take action for something someone posts online
  • Social media after an employee’s departure – protecting the company’s confidential information is key to success, so knowing whether you can or can’t keep an employee’s social media contacts developing during work is important.
